Families may find connecting with their children challenging as parents balance their hectic schedules and play the roles of peacemaker, educator, nurturer, caregiver and protector. Every interaction can present a unique opportunity to either strengthen their bond or create distance. There is a profound difference between simply talking “at” your child and actually communicating “with” them. Positive interactions - such as active listening, showing empathy, and providing support, can foster trust and closeness.
